Project brief:
DSI Lighting System is an independent unit which does not use electricity from any commercial power source.

Methodology:
This Lighting System uses ordinary spent car batteries and tube lights. Both the batteries and the tube lights cannot be used for any other purpose and are basically junk.
The DSI Lighting System comes with a manual charger that charges up the spent battery. This charger doesn’t use any electricity and is completely manual. The charger can charge the spent battery fully in about 20-25 minutes.

Savings and Pay back time:
DSI Lighting System doesn’t use any electricity source, new equipment or special apparatus so it is virtually free to operate. The only cost is the one time purchase cost which has been kept very nominal for the benefit of the people.
The spent battery when charged with the supplied charger is able to light a standard 40W burnt out tube light for 12-13 hours continuously in one charge.
The pay back time is immediate.

Benefiting community:
The DSI Lighting System is ideal for far flung areas where there is no electricity and people do not have any modern lighting systems. Special target areas are the rural areas of Sindh, Baluchistan and the northern areas of NWFP.

Enivronmental Effects:
There are no harmful effects at all with the DSI Lighting System. With zero noise pollution and zero smoke emissions it is extremely environment friendly. Infact it reduces pollution as it uses batteries and tube lights that cannot be used otherwise. These used items release harmful agents in the ground if disposed off improperly.
