Project Brief:
This system is used to clean the thick black smoke coming out of the brick kilns, commonly known as ‘Bhatta’.
Several government and private organizations have in the past tried to devise systems that can reduce the smoke produced by the kilns, but they have all failed to gain much attention of the brick kiln owners. The reason for their failure being that they tried to change the ‘Bhatta’ culture by introducing new methods of brick manufacturing and new designs of the kilns and chimneys.
Methodology:
The present method of making bricks in kilns is culturally very deep rooted and unfortunately the owners and operators of these kilns are not very highly educated.
The DSI system cleans the smoke coming out of the chimneys without disturbing either the design or the setup of the brick kilns. This system uses a combination of water filters and purifiers to reduce the carbon content in the smoke being emitted from these chimneys. There is an independent power generation unit which runs the pumps and other related equipment and recycles the water being used.
The same system has been applied at our premises and is very successful
Efficiency:
This system reduces the amount of carbon in the smoke by approximately 75% as compared to untreated smoke.
